Weird choice but... Wellesley vs. Tulane

CC helped me during the application process, so hopefully they can pull some advice out for me.

I have some reaches next week (Vassar, Williams, and Yale) but barring a miracle and I get into Yale and it's even cheaper than Wellesley, I actually think I like Wellesley more. So this is my choice right now.

-I am planning on going into either Urban Planning or graduate school (maybe even Law, I have to see about debt when that comes around). Tulane has an urban studies minor, and is in a city, but Wellesley has the MIT consortium so...

-I don't have a financial aid package from Tulane, since my Non-Custodial Parent can't/won't send in the CSS Profile and I don't qualify for a waiver so basically its just the scholarship. Breakdown as follows:

TULANE
COA: 12,740, + personal expenses (about 2,000 I guess? From Wellesley's thing) and travel (will get to that in a sec)

WELLESLEY
COA: 15,825 incl. books, personal expenses (at least that was what they said in the aid package), 500 dollars for travel. I could take the Perkins loan and Direct Stafford for either school, but my mom says I don't have to

-Now as far as travel goes Wellesley is far cheaper even though I'd have to take a shuttle to and from campus for Boston Logan. Flying to Tulane, in New Orleans, is expensive literally all the time, and bus/train costs are also more expensive (I live in Illinois)

-So including the other stuff outside of tuition it's about what and what for cost. My mom can pay (I went to private school for elementary school and it was about the same cost) but I just have to decide.

So I was wondering if anyone had any insights. I have family within driving distance (i.e 2 hours) in both areas, the only plus for Boston is that I have friends in the area who are going to Harvard/MIT/Wellesley so I wouldn't be quite so alone as in Tulane. Another thing to know is that I don't party hard. At all. I've heard Tulane's rep, but in the Honors Dorm I don't think it would be a problem...

Apparently your net COA is ~$16,000 for either school.
So … which one do you like better.
(Sounds like Wellesley).

As of right now, Wellesley. I haven’t actually visited Tulane yet though. I don’t want to go into this decision lightly, since it’s where I’m staying for the next four years which is why I want any and all information possible.
