I just got a letter from UMass Boston, the last to contact me of my 3 schools. The letter says blah blah Nursing program incredibly competitive. Strong applicants put in a pool. Start selection from pool after February 1st deadline. You are in the pool; will receive a decision on or before May 15th.

Ummm, May 15th?! I understand it could be before then, but that is a full TWO WEEKS after every other normal college's reply date. I wasn't really planning on attending after getting admission and a scholarship to my #1 school, but still. What if I was weighing UMass heavily? I have to reply to the others by May 1st. What if I was rejected to Umass? I don't know, it just seems weird that they say they will send a decision that late. I mean, I know it's a fairly large state school, and there are probably lots of candidates for the Nursing program, but really? Three months?!

Have you heard this about any other schools?
