I was cleaning up to decorate for Christmas. DD got 23 college mailings just this week....all sorts of schools.

A couple of weeks ago, S got a DVD from Swarthmore. It was student-produced (well part of it, there were four sections) and followed four kids through a typical day. There was an athlete, a dancer, a musician, etc... In one section, they had kids come sit by themselves in front of the camera and just answer questions off a sheet of paper. The kids were really honest and sincere, not scripted at all. The alumni-produced segment was also good. They brought back six or so alums (one of them was a very elderly woman who had something to do with the space program in its early days) and they shared their memories (with photos and old film). I really liked the overall product, even though the school is not right for our S, because I picked up a lot more of the "tone" of the school than from their printed materials. I wish more schools would mail DVDs instead of brochures.
