Weird question regarding Dartmouth frats...

Okay, so basically, my "friend" thought it would be a great idea if sometime in the near future he and a few of his buddies take a midnight road trip from Boston up to Dartmouth and check out a frat party or two. I mean, with over 40% of people in frats, one would assume it would be impossible not to find a frat party on a Friday night. My question is, basically, how does the whole frat party scene work? Do you have to know the people throwing it? Or can anyone just walk through the door (pay a fee?) and chill? Are people generally laid back, or would some immediately start yelling, "High School kids! Kick them out!" at my friend? (Provided the party were in the preliminary "not too drunk to tell a 16 year old from a Dartmouthian(?)" stage.)

from my experiences, you can just walk in and if you had to explain that you were a prospy, you’d probably get to cut the line/special treatment, etc

at dimensions some frats just let prospies in, though there were lines because it was crowded that night. i don’t think they would ever charge a fee

however, they made efforts to keep alcohol away from prospies because there were apparently more serious penalties for giving it to them.

okay, lots of misconceptions here…let me clear this up.

things were different during dimensions because of all the rules the college imposes on us. first of all, there is no line to get into parties. second of all, anyone can pretty much just walk into any party. the only exception is at open dance parties they will likely ask to see your dartmouth ID to get in. again, its a big liabillity for us if youre not enrolled. yes, there will be alcohol. you will not get special treatment though (whatever that means…). and yes, on a friday night, absolutely every frat will be having a party. and finally, no frat will ever charge a fee to get in.

in a nutshell, don’t do anything stupid and no one will give you trouble. have fun, be safe
