IBclass06, I'm applying to UNC-CH, Duke and Columbia. I hope to get into SIPA (Columbia grad school) after a few years overseas after undergrad. Possibly also Princeton, Yale, Georgetown, Chicago, Tufts, etc. I haven't looked into grad school too much. You?

I also plan to apply to Duke and UNC, although they don't offer NES. Chicago and Johns Hopkins (maybe Brown/Columbia as well) are my top choices. I haven't looked into grad schools (Chicago?); choosing undergrad is enough stress right now...:)

If I am accepted at nu (northwestern) i will try to combine all 3 of the following programs:

Mathematical Methods in the Social Sciences (BA MMSS + Major in SS - I will choose Econ)

BA/MA in Econ

5 yr BA/BS Industrial Engineering at Weinberg (College of Arts and Sciences)/McCormick(Engineering)

Hopefully in an idealized 5 years i will end up with a BS in Industrial Engineering, BA in MMSS and Economics, and MA in Econ.

Awesome.

UPDATE:

Scratch all that. It would be impossible and I don't wanna spend my life in college at the library. The most I'd go for is MMSS + Econ + possible a third major in Math seeing as how many of the reqs are out of the way.

University of Liverpool has a nice looking Egyptology program, for those interested in studying in the UK. I myself plan to major in Archaeology or Egyptology, but minor in Asian studies, and botany. I was thinking of adding Middle Eastern/Near Eastern studies as a minor, but that may be too much. Though I can't for the life in me find a search engine that includes Egyptology in its major search, and I thought Botany was rare!

look into NYU Gallatin to create your own major

Im gonna major in American Studies with a minor in Peace and Conflict Studies. (read: Im going to be homeless)

I'm still not sure what I'd like to major in, but here are a few choices: Neuroscience, Aeronautical Engineering, or Social Work (NYU's School of Social Work).

i'd do aerospace...

but thats just cuz thats what i'm going into, so im a tiny bit biased. ;)

I really want to do wig and makeup design, but the programs are really hard to get into, I am not sure if I can get the prior experience needed to get accepted, I live in a hick town, with a school that doesn't do plays, much less makeup classes.

What about that major where you study the simpsons? Wild.

Costume History & Design.

I know, you've never heard of it! :)

Where is the Simpsons major, quitejaded? How interesting...

I was thinking about a major in religion with a specialization in Tibetology

But I'll prolly stick to Biophysics.

Not something I'm going into, but I got a mailing from a school with an urban tree management major. I'm really not sure how much managing trees anywhere need.

Equine Studies, focusing on riding instruction and horse training. More colleges are offering this but there are only 2 (maybe 3) that I am considering. Made my college list pretty simple. :) I might minor in English, and go into Equine Journalism, if it turns out I don't want to (or can't, for some reason) work hands-on with the horses. Always good to have a back-up plan.
And I can't BELIEVE there's a simpsons major...that can't be right!! very interesting...
