welcome wk events

the dance is pretty fun in pauley pavillion and theres a lotta people going usually.

When do we get wristbands? If i remember its sometime during move in weekend?

dawritingmachine -

you are not greek material.
get out.

dawriting machine-

I wholeheartedly suggest at least checking it out if you aren't sure. I was unsure if I wanted to pledge but I rushed and ended up getting a bid to house I really liked. The worst thing that can happen is that you waste a couple of afternoons. At least then you won't be left wondering if you should have. Obviously each sorority wants you to think they're the greatest, but there is no pressure at all. I had many friends last year who rushed. Some joined a sorority and some didn't, but they all ended up happy with their choice.

so im guessing for bruinbash it's just regular clubbin' music, eh? hip hop, rap, techno, eurodance, etc ... ?

eurobeat i hope

in fact i'm a little worried for bruin bash. who should i go to the events w/? only one other person from my hs is going to ucla and we haven't kept in touch all summer. i have some ucla facebook friends and a few from orientation but they're all in different dorms. should i just go to the events alone?

or would i already have made friends so quickly before then?

You're not mandated to attend these events. If you want to go to your relatives', who would stop you?

Bruin Bash concert: T.I. (and probably some small local filler/warm up bands)

are you referring to the welcome week events or to students' lives at UCLA in general?

mme-lin: i am talking about the introverted part.

Referring to getting to know people at the beginning of the school-year and making acquaintances. Was responding to this notion:

Made friends just from existing and being in proximity of thousands of students.
