All easy matches for you. Not sure what Stenfurds is, but if that’s Stanford, it’s a bit chance-y. Just gotta make sure you have great essays and recs.

Chance me?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1613118-chances-for-brown-u-of-rochester-amherst-and-u-of-michigan-ann-arbor.html#latest</a></p>

UChicago and Steeenfuuuurds are reaches for almost everyone, but I just got into the former EA and since you have good ECs and my grades were worse than yours, I think you have a great shot at them! And yeah man, Asian gg solidarity -__- The rest are matches. Good luck!

w0we m8
Good on you I’m jealous, with any luck I’ll see you there in a little more than half a year

Your list is very risky since it contains no safety. (All schools on your list are highly selective with low odds of admission.)
UCB and UCLA are within reach but even if your stats push you past the first cut, your essays and circumstances would make the difference either way. They’re still the closest you have to safeties (although they’re not).
Stanford is unpredictable but you’d make the first cut at least - so, odds 1:3 (pretty good but still 2:3 of getting denied). JHU and UChicago are matches so your odds are 50-50.

@MYOS1634 Thanks for the detailed reply. Stanford I was hoping that since I was doing the naval program it might give me an edge- either way I didn’t really want to go to stanford, everyone would be 2smart4me
My top choice is Chicago so I’ll pledge myself to that thread and help out other CCers
PS Im in instate for california

UChicago and John Hopkins are colleges i would say you are a good contender for.
Unlike other applicants the Internship and patents are unique awards combined with a solid GPA should make you stand out. Other stuff is non unique but having those is good.
Stanford is always a ehhhh question simply due to the nature of it being so competitive.

I would say:

Schools applied to:
UC Berkeley - MechE (high match)
UC LA - EE/CS (match)
Stenfurds (love the spelling. However, reach for everybody)
JHU (high match/low reach)
UChicago (high match/low reach)

The UCs will be easier as your are a CA resident.

Stanford is simply impossible to predict and no matter what the outcome, you won’t ever have a satisfactory reason for why you were accepted or not. Much like HYP, et al. However, you say you really don’t want to go there anyway.

While I see UChicago and JHU as sort of at the same level (low reaches), my sense is that UChicago will actually turn out to be more of a high match given your profile and your clear interest.

@jvarin & @veritas126
thx guise it’s nice to know someone else’s thoughts but regents just came out today and i didn’t get either QQ

if i can help you with anything else hmu

Jhu high match
UCLA match
Uchicago reach
Standford high reach (for everyone)
UCB high match

GL! 5 schools seem to little though. I applied to 16!

<a href=“Chance at MIT/Caltech/Princeton? Will chance back! - #6 by sloth83 - Chance Me / Match Me! - College Confidential Forums”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/discussion/comment/16920220</a></p>

Bumping update, for future people who want as reference point
Stanford/JHU- reject
Chicago waitlist
UCLA/Cal- accept

I actually think you’ll get into Stanford. Not that it’s a match or anything, but the quirkiness of your EC’s has already put a smile on my face. UCB and UCLA are matches. JHU and UChic are definitely in your grasp. 4 kids from my school got into JHU this year
First one: 3.77 Weighted GPA 3.5 UWGPA, 32 ACT, Worked at Carls Jrs, Did Hospital Work, Played Varsity Waterpolo, and was mexican.
Second one: 4.2 WGPA 3.9 UWGPA, 2170 SAT, Did research, played JV tennis 1 season, and was president of a local club
Third one: 4.27 WGPA, 4.0 UWPA, 2170 SAT, LTG for Key Club, Varsity Tennis
Fourth one: 4.3 WGPA, 3.97 UWGPA, 2290 SAT, UCLA Soccer Team 11,12, Shadowed Britain’s best neurosurgeon, 5 800’s on subject tests, all 5’s on 11 AP tests, and founder of a local redcross club.

I’d say you’re equivalent to the fourth one I listed who also got into Cornell, Cal Tech, UC Berkeley, and UCLA!

lol wait dude i mean these are my results…
(future reference for cc’ers)
