Chances for UC's and some privates

I've been reading these boards for a while so, why not. My EC's blow but w/e

Chance at all the top UCs(Berkeley, LA, Davis, SD, Irvine...) privates (John Hopkins, the dream schools (Stanford, Caltech, MIT , Ivy League schools))
Hoping to go into either premed or engineering. lol yeah i know.
Going to be a senior next school year

Recs: They should be average/good.

Thanks in advance

Not familiar with the UC system

HYP - crapshoot, apply anyways
Stanford - you might wanna EA this (heck, why not?) if you're really interested.
JHU - low reach
Caltech - reach
MIT - reach

High reach is like impossible right? and low reach would mean that its somewhat possible? :D Just making sure

High reach is not impossible. By definition, Harvard is a high reach for 99.9% of American high school students. It merely indicates a rather low percentage (I like to set it around 10-15%, but I dunno what other ppl do)

Low reach is not quiet match, but definitely very possible.

bump for a post

bump. Common guys, anything would be appreciated greatly

I have almost identical stats, with the exception of my replacing the SAT with the ACT.

You should be good with the UCs. All of them are well within reach.

Are you a first-generation college student? Did your parents go to college? (Any college, doesn't matter what country.)
If not, then you have an even better chance.

I don't get it, my UW is 3.7, and my weighted is 4.5. Everyone else has higher UW and lower W. My Bs are in non-honors classes, something doesn't add up, I'm going to check mine again.

Caltech and MIT really care about your standardized testing. Caltech also does not count race or background as much as other schools. I saw people get into MIT with worse math records than you. You have an average reach there. Work on your ECs if possible. Try to work with a university professor on a research paper. Something different, yet useful in the real world.
