Well my winter just went downhill (Grades)

Grades are coming and I was expecting A's and B's. So far it's

History: Not reported
Calc: C
English: A
Jazz History: A
World Religions: A
Chemistry 2: Not reported

I was so surprised with the C in calculus. The grades were eight quizzes and three tests. My tests were 89 83 and 79 (again surprised). My quizzes were I'm sure at least a B average. I emailed my professor asking to give me all the grades she imputed. So I'm waiting for her reply. She was a ***** too. She didn't attend class for a week and a half without any warning and leaving us with a ****ty sub. When she came back she gave a test without some sort of review hence the 79 on the test grade.

So I'm pretty sure I'm not getting into any schools because I was suppose to have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 by the end of Fall semester for UCSD. I was hoping with those classes all As with the exception with one B. I know on History I got an A for sure, and chemistry I'm hoping he'll give me an A since i had an A going into the final, but we'll see. Anyway looks like my plan FAILED. I feel so low and useless right now. I went to tutoring for calculus every week preparing for the weekly quizzes. I've been at CC for almost three years and this isn't helping. I think I should just drop my classes for next semester and just save them for next year since they don't accept winter transfers -___- I lived in San Diego all my life and I'd like to stay here.

What’s your expected cum gpa (assuming an A in both Chem/Hist)? Besides Calc (*** calc), you did steller this semester…don’t be so down on yourself!!

Yeah, honestly, it seems as though you’d be fine for UCSD (assuming that ur UC GPA is at least a 3.0 after this semester). Also, once you get all the grades, and find that you should’ve gotten a B in calc, you can get her to change ur grade. If she refuses, you can always take ur grades and her grading policy to an administrator and have everything resolved (assuming that ur calc teacher is that much of a *****).

Assuming everything went to plan i would have exactly a 3.0, but i will probably end up with a 2.9 which really sucks. 0.1 point away from transferring.

3.0 is for Tag, you can still get in, with a 2.9, don’t lose hope. also i really think that you shouldve gotten a B in calc, so pursue that.

similar question for UCSD.

I have a 2.98 GPA after this Fall(sux, especially since I wanted to TAG for SD).I was
wondering if SD offer admission to anyone who is an un-impacted science major?(also, wanted to add that withdrew from Calc cuz professor wasn’t that great and now there’s a W on my transcripts. :/)

2.98 is still within in range. A 3.0 is for the guarantee; it never hurts to try. Don’t lose hope.

OHH MY GOSSHH I GOT A’s in History and Chemistry

THIS STUPID C IN CALC IS KILLING MEEEEE. MY stupid professor hasn’t replied yet. I’m tempted to write her a sob email saying I really need a B in this class because I want to transfer already!

I doubt a professor would view your desire to transfer as a legitimate reason for giving you a B in Calculus if a C is the grade you earned.

I notice you’re from San Diego, do you go to Mesa? Sounds like you had Professor Howard. She also disappeared in the middle of our semester last Fall and we were stuck with some guy LaPlume that had no idea what he was doing.

Well i just calculated all my grades and quizzes and factored in the final with a hypothetical “65” and it says i should have an 81. what the deuce.
and no i didnt have howard, I had a girl named Belew. Our crappy sub was some british guy that whenever he would walk in the room half the class would walk out.

So i know this is an old thread and what not. This was my first week of school for spring semester. I was able to get in touch with my calc teacher and she said she made a mistake and i really got a B. Which means cumulative GPA 3.0 what upppppp!

congrats!!

aww yea!!! nice

Wow, what an ordeal. Congrats and good luck for the future!
