ok... With 4 weeks in to my spring semester, i am off to a bad start. Got C in my calc and chem exams. Luckily both teacher allow one dropped exam. My third classes at ucla extension hasn't even started(will start on April). I was really sick last week, so that contributed to the poor grade. I am 3.7 student.

I have been really slacking off. Kinda depressed about CC, unmotivated, and lonely. I've been going to CC since school ended. Started in the summer. Had stressful fall semester. Had to give up UC that accepted me from HS due to financial probs.

WHat bothers me is the tests i did porely on were not dificult.

haha don't worry I will be in your situation soon....:( I was talking about the pre-CC where you didn't go to UC cause of financial situation...that was my situation as well. to make you feel better last year in Calc II I started the semester off with really low Bs (like 80%) but I got an A at the end...it aint' over till its over

yeah i am usually a slow starter. But i promised myself i would work harder in the begining of the semester instead being stressed in the middle of the semester and since my bio class starts a month an half after chem and calc. But, i guess u make plans and then u break them.

I am glad my classes are not dificult, i just have to force myself to put in the time.

hnbui, thanks for ur support. I am not sure if u're a CC student. But when u're in a CC, grades are extremely important b/c this it, it determines which Univ u will get into. There is no SAT, EC are not that important.

I am still confident, each teacher allows one dropped test. So, i can start of clean w. out having to make up for poor grades the hard way.

hnbui, I am taking classes to meet the requirements for pharmacy school. Very similar to premed, actually identical. I've been very succesful so far w/ a 3.7

It was second semester of regular chem.

The clases are not overly dificult for me, i am positive i can get A in both if i study enough.

see for me it was the opposite. I found the first semester of gen chem to be more difficult. This semester gen chem seems to be more of what i learned in hs, acids and bases, equlibrium, etc.

I'm not doing well either, four weeks into the semester. I started a thread about my problems already so if you really want to know, just go over there......

Short version: My Dad was very ill and died recently, and that's sort of putting an impact on my ability to function and focus. It's not the only reason, but it's a major one.

sorry aviva_dawn, everythings gunna be okay.

i'm kinda screwing up right now...i'm pulling C avg in my writing class. actually, the first and only essay i got back so far, i only got a c- on it....not good AT ALL.

sigh, I hope my other grades will make the adcom realize that I'm not a C student.

overall currently is a 3.45. but THIS semester, with the exception of writing, i'm pulling a 3.8. if we factor in writing, damn...it mite go as low as a 3.3 or 3.4..

Yea dont worry, i had a horrible start to my first semester of college (last fall). I ended up getting:
A-
A-
B
B-

I know it doesnt look too bad. But the two Bs i got were in 4 cred classes while the As were in 3 cred classes.

It averaged out to be a 3.21 (and i applied to usc with this) :( I am also scared that the adcom will misinterpret my performance. I know i am a much better student. This semester is going pretty good though-at least a 3.75.

Anyways, bad semesters happen. Just dont make it a trend
