I know that Wellesley allows 4 units in total....well, can I JUST use my AP scores to skip introductory courses?
that is to say, if I use up my 4-unit allowance, would it be possible to skip classes?

thanks

The credit receiving aspect and the placement aspect of APs are separate at Wellesley–that is to say, you could use your AP scores to skip classes even if you did not receive credit for that score. For example, I maxed out my AP credit, but had I received 5s on my AP econ exams (sadly I got 4s) I would potentially have been able to skip intro micro and macro even though I wouldn’t have been able to receive credit for those scores. That said not every AP exam corresponds to a class you could skip at Wellesley (in particular this is true of AP English and History exams–perhaps others as well, but that’s the extent of my knowledge). Many departments explain their AP/IB and class placement policies in the course catalog.
