Wellesley College v.s. Yale-NUS

Hello from Canada!

I was recently waitlisted at Wellesley, and accepted into Yale NUS College for its class of 2020, and I fully plan on majoring in Economics.

Say I ended up getting off the waitlist for Wellesley, I wanted to ask the CC community for any insight on how graduates from these schools fare in terms of getting jobs, especially in business and/or finance. Ideally, I would love to work in the U.S., but location doesn’t necessarily matter for me - the kinds of jobs do.

I know Wellesley is highly respected in the U.S., but how about Yale-NUS? Which one would you choose in this situation?

I would love to hear your thoughts

I had never heard of Yale-NUS prior to seeing your post.

Given that Yale-NUS is not in the USA and a recently established school, future employers in the US are far more likely to recognize the value of a Wellesley degree, were you to graduate from Wellesley and look for a job in the States.

If you wanted to live and work in Singapore, Yale-NUS would quite possibly be a better choice.

Economics is a very popular major at Wellesley.

You may also want to contact Pizzagirl, a frequent poster on CC. I believe she may know more about how recent graduates fair in terms of work in finance.
