Is it possible for a student to be a premed and also study aboard for junior year? Is it too much or is it manageable?

It is possible but it requires careful planning from day 1 and it depends on the year-long program chosen. We heard a talk by a student who spent a year in Aix-en-Provence via the Wellesley French program who was going to medical school. But other programs (i.e. Oxford) in which student spend all year studying one subject do not work because there is no time to fulfill all graduation requirements plus pre-med courses.

Actually, I disagree with NJSue. I had friends that did it, but you do have to plan it before you enroll in the fall and make sure you take the year long required courses early.

Also, you can always take a summer session course if you need to get in extra credits.
