Wellesley Requesting Financial Aid?

I got an email asking me for "missing financial information". My guidance counselor says this doesn't mean anything but one of my teachers says that it means that the school is interested. Any insight into this? Is this a sign that Wellesley will accept (as a freshman or a transfer) or is it just wishful thinking?

exact same, here.
my dad yelled at me. he said i needed to stop, "reading the tea leaves."
::sigh::
i have no idea.
we'll know soon enough, though.

well are you planning on applying for financial aid? if you've previously expressed interest in applying for aid, then they're doing a follow up explaining that they need all your information before they can make an offer.

yeah. i accidentally left out a form from my IDOC packet. i understand.

well, I am applying for financial aid...its just I know last year, people applying to Cornell who were asked for more information were either accepted or recommended as transfers. I'm just wondering if this is an isolated thing or if it happens on a larger scale.

anybody???

I think the consensus is that if at this point in the process (i.e. decisions are already made), you get requests to complete missing financial aid documents, then you have probably been admitted. From a workload perspective, the financial aid offices wouldn't bother completing files for applicants who have been denied. From a human perspective, it's a little misleading to request for information when rejection is pending. There's also a pretty good correlation between these emails and likely letters on the Cornell board, and I believe it... I think you've been admitted =) Congrats.

Is Wellesley need-blind? If not, they might want to see your financial information regardless of your status. In case of MIT, they sent me an e-mail AND a snail mail saying that I needed to send in my home equity/loan information early March. Everybody said that I probably got in since they were requesting the info almost right before the decision date. But I ended up not being accepted (yeah.. I wasted my money on express mail for nothing). I do not want to be negative or discouraging but just wanted to let you know. Unless you call and ask the Financial Aid Office, nobody can tell you what it means for sure.

I'm pretty sure Wellesley is need-blind. (Not for internationals though)
