Trying to transfer to Vanderbilt, here's me:

Spent two years at public school, two years at all girls private high school
GPA: 3.3
Leader of orchestra, play violin for 12 years

First year at Wellesley, have B's in all four classes, also taking violin lessons and in the orchestra there

ACT: 31

Planning on applying for the engineering school.

What are my chances?

In 2008, 56% of all transfer students there were allegedly accepted.
Going from Wellesley (supposedly huge liberal school) to Vanderbilt in Tennessee is like a drastic change though. Mind I ask how come you’re transferring? Wellesley’s one of my top choices for next year. And isn’t you going to an engineering school through Wellesley a lot better than doing the same through Vanderbilt because you’re coming from an all girls school? Just my guess.

You have a fair/good chance at getting into Vanderbilt; it’s definitely not the most selective school out there. But I think you should definitely have a lot more to say than what you’ve said above; any special achievements, extraordinary talents, awards? I feel as if you probably have a lot of music awards and stuff too? Just a guess. What if you sent in like a clipping of your amazing violin piece or something? I think that’d be a really good idea.

Thanks, I have a few pretty good achievements in music.
Anyone else chance me? Please?

Bump!

I will chance back!
