<p>I feel so blessed walking around campus every single day that I'm there. I love Emory!</p>
<p>Wow, normally we don’t make lists like this. Probably because we don’t employ typical collegiate themes of architecture like most schools (which most students love. For some reason students at top schools like antiquity). And unlike say Stanford, our style does not match the region, so it definitely stands out. “Classically” southern: Uh, no! Vandy, UVA, Chapel Hill, UGA, Wake Forest, you know red-brick schools get that designation. The green space is the only thing that makes Emory remotely southern. Number 6, can’t say I agree, but do I think the campus is beautiful, yes! I love to walk around it. We definitely have one of the more “interesting”, non-stereotypical campuses that somehow still turns out to look good (except winter, only gothic schools look good in winter).</p>
<p>What I love is how Emory is ranked sixth, yet the description says “Emory is easily one of our top five prettiest campuses in the country.” I feel like the compiler(s) of this list clearly went to Elon. I live not far from that school… I’ve gone by it several times. At best, I’ve thought, “This is an okay campus.” I’ve never hear so much as one person–not even an alumnus or alumna–make a single comment about the campus’s beauty.</p>

<p>and YES, i agree. i was very surprised elon was first… i didn’t like the campus at all, and it didn’t seem like the style of the buildings fit well together</p>

<p>Wow, they did change it lol. Love it. Everyone loves Gothic (even if the Gothic campuses kind of all look the same), why aren’t the Gothic schools ranked way higher? Who are these people? Lots of people hate our campus b/c it doesn’t do the traditional architecture of most campuses (other stucco campuses get the benefit of the doubt b/c they are in regions where it is expected, either way, our marble is kind “out there”), so most would not rank us in top 10 or even 20, if at all.<br>
Elon honestly looks like the stereotypical campus in the south to. Perhaps the waterworks add some pizazz (Emory could use some more waterworks/fountains, but I don’t know if they fit in well considering our layout and untraditional architecture).<br>
These folks seem to value green space (or some incorporation w/natural elements and geography) in which case Duke should certainly be moved up I’m already mad that they rank lower than WashU. I really wouldn’t even say WashU is as pretty as we are, and I like Gothic architecture. </p>
<p>I like Kenyon though. Mainly because I like hilly campuses (they are in the mountains it appears). Emory seems as if it was “flattened” and used to be hillier before it started to grow. We would also be neater looking w/more hills. I’m picturing Emory w/its architecture w/a consistently Tech or UGA geography.</p>
<p>Upon further thought: It seems they put more emphasis on “scenery” than architecture or a combo. of both for that matter. It does seem as if many schools are rather dull (even the ones w/ what many view as great architecture) when you take actual scenery into account. Most campuses just become stereotypical and strikingly similar in that context.</p>
