Ok the title is pretty self explanatory. There were a whole bunch of "favorites" questions in the princeton app. How many of you were totally honest with your responses?

I'll start - I have to say i was not honest. for some reason i was not able to say things like my favorite movie is pulp fiction.

Its not that i'm ashamed of it or anything, i just thought some of my answers wouldn't be appropriate for a college app. form, can't really explain it though...

Atmosphere's song "Always coming back home to you" i love it.

Favorite movie - Dumb and dumber by far
Favorite quote - I messed up here. I thought it said favorite MOVIE quote. Then on the second 300 word essay I said my favorite quote was something else. I hope I do not get penalized for this but anyhow it was something like this "I thought the rocky mountains would be rockier than this" from dumb and dumber.
Favorite word - Why

I wish Princeton deleted this section...it's just there to make applicants feel good about the application (like it's personal and someone actually cares about their favorite word) but it doesn't actually mean anything in terms of admissions. People end up spending way too much time and energy on this inconsequential stuff

Would it be weird to say "a recording I made with my cell phone?" The actual quality of the sound isn't that good, but it's of a certain song performed at this amazing music festival and just the memories attached to it make it good.

P.S. I know this section doesn't matter that much and that I won't be accepted/rejected because of it, but I figure it's better to channel my freaking-outness into something productive than into I'M NOT GOING TO GET IN craziness. So I will probably obsess about the Favorites section until 10:50 central time.

I had a hard time choosing a favorite movie, so I wrote Gone with the Wind because it was the most "classic" of the ones I was considering. That wasn't really dishonest, though, because I do like it a lot; I just don't have any particular favorite movie, so in the end it was a pretty arbitrary choice.
