Were you totally honest with the favorites questions?

Ok the title is pretty self explanatory. There were a whole bunch of "favorites" questions in the princeton app. How many of you were totally honest with your responses?

I'll start - I have to say i was not honest. for some reason i was not able to say things like my favorite movie is pulp fiction.

Its not that i'm ashamed of it or anything, i just thought some of my answers wouldn't be appropriate for a college app. form, can't really explain it though...

So....

for the "favorite record", did they mean CD??? cause i put a CD, instead of a "record"

They couldn't really have much impact on anything anyways. I doubt saying pulp fiction would be bad. Maybe Girls Gone Wild 3 would be bad.

I put honest answers.

Atmosphere's song "Always coming back home to you" i love it.

Favorite movie - Dumb and dumber by far
Favorite quote - I messed up here. I thought it said favorite MOVIE quote. Then on the second 300 word essay I said my favorite quote was something else. I hope I do not get penalized for this but anyhow it was something like this "I thought the rocky mountains would be rockier than this" from dumb and dumber.
Favorite word - Why

it was a favorite movie quote.
favorite line from a movie...

oh phew. then good. thanks!

lol i put Harold and Kumar go to White Castle for my favorite movie. Hey...it had Princeton in it!

I wish Princeton deleted this section...it's just there to make applicants feel good about the application (like it's personal and someone actually cares about their favorite word) but it doesn't actually mean anything in terms of admissions. People end up spending way too much time and energy on this inconsequential stuff

I really liked it. It made the application more enjoyable.

if we don't have a favorite in one of the sections, can we just leave it blank or put N/A?

i would try to come up with something lol

i was as truthful as the character limit on the common app allowed me to be. :P but i had trouble with fave record. there are too many!!!!

I like this section too.
The only thing I am having trouble with is favorite keepsake or memento.

Oh ya I put my Nintendo from 12 years ago for that :).

Can't Stop by the Red Hot Chili Peppers performed Live at Hyde Park for the recording!

Would it be weird to say "a recording I made with my cell phone?" The actual quality of the sound isn't that good, but it's of a certain song performed at this amazing music festival and just the memories attached to it make it good.

P.S. I know this section doesn't matter that much and that I won't be accepted/rejected because of it, but I figure it's better to channel my freaking-outness into something productive than into I'M NOT GOING TO GET IN craziness. So I will probably obsess about the Favorites section until 10:50 central time.

I had a hard time choosing a favorite movie, so I wrote Gone with the Wind because it was the most "classic" of the ones I was considering. That wasn't really dishonest, though, because I do like it a lot; I just don't have any particular favorite movie, so in the end it was a pretty arbitrary choice.

i used who's next by the who
my email is thewho so I thought it was cute

my quote was "is this an audience or a mosaic?" from hercules
yeah, i want to be a classics major.

I wonder if anyone put A Beautiful Mind... lol.

I felt like I was honest; this was probably my favorite part of the application and I had fun with it.

A Beautiful Mind is actually one of my favorite movies (I put Master and Commander instead).
