What is Princeton expecting under the "state your favorite" section?
Would most people answer with what they think the college wants to hear or with the truth?

I'll admit I did a mixture of both, but with more of a leaning towards the truthful. My favorite book and movie were a little off, but the rest was all me. And honestly, I think the ones that were truthful gave a much more positive insight into my personality, to the point that I probably should have put the real movie and book too. So I'd say go with what you honestly like.

I agree with affle. Secretly the book that I read over and over again is Harry Potter, but I took the question "favorite book" as "favorite book that has literary value." :)

Unless your favorite book is Justine and your favorite film Caligula, honestly should be fine.

haha, I'm ashamed that I actually know what you're talking about

ceebee -- Harry Potter was exactly why I had to lie about my favorite book ;)

What'd yall put for your favorite words

I think those questions were designed to be a truth meter. My son deliberated over the questions at length because he wanted to be absolutely truthful. His final answers were a bit goofy but then, that's the kind of guy he actually is.

For both Yale and Princeton he seemed to go for broke, in terms of being honest about who he is.

Yeah, my favorite film is October Sky, and my favorite line is from the Lion King. Doesn't get much more honest than that.

lol ducktape, I put October Sky too. Seriously, cheesiest movie ever, but it stuck.

i put my favorite movie was the matrix and my favorite book was the kiterunner. i definately should have put more thought into those i think.

Wow I put Ferris Bueller's Day Off for my favorite quote AND movie. At least I was honest? lol
