General Comments:

My only big weakness was math. I tested for a learning disability, but it was minimal enough that I didn’t think it necessary to submit those files. I still don’t think that would have drastically changed my decision. I have a minor calculations deficit, but have always been able to work hard and get Bs. I took the SAT twice and my math score remained the same. Blarg.

My rejection was kind of devastating. I really had my heart set on Wes for… two years… and I had to wonder if there was something else besides math standing my way. If all math was removed from my app, my gpa would be much higher, I’d have all A’s, my scores very high, etc… I felt like my motivation and curiosity was made very clear and that math was a clearly difficult subject for me.

Also I basically had “WESLEYAN!!!” written all over my application. :P

But who knows. To those of you applying, don’t be anxious! Quite a bit of this is hit or miss and everyone has a shot. And if you don’t make it in, you’ll feel like crap for a while and then find (or rediscover) an interest in other schools. I still (really really) wish I could go to Wes, but I’ve been accepted to a few other schools and have a vested interest in several more. Things work out.

Sorry about this essay here…

There’s two cents from the only visible EDI reject thus far. Good luck to everyone else!
