Wesleyan Interview

D. is applying to Wesleyan and is looking to schedule an interview.
Since Wesleyan interviews are evaluative, can you please tell us whether there is a difference in weightage Wesleyan accords to campus interviews versus Alumni interviews?
She has visited Wes. before. We live around 4 hours away from the college.
I'd deeply appreciate answers from those who know the admission process of Wesleyan very well.
Thanks,

We visited/toured Wesleyan in June. The Admissions Office told my son that about 90% of their admitted students (not applicants, but admitted students) do NOT have an interview and only 10% of admitted students do have an interview. They said that you should schedule an interview if you feel that your application does not say everything about you that you’de like. So my son decided not to interview. However, interviewing would certainly show extra interest.

You can learn a lot about the Wesleyan admission process by reading the book “The Gatekeepers” in which a reporter spent a year inside the admissions office in 2002.
