Wesleyan = middle of nowhere?

..... Any comments?

It's not. Trust me. I'm from Maine. I've been to the middle of nowhere, and Middletown ain't it. Middletown has, you know, buildings. And 24-hour supermarkets. And ethnic restaurants. Not things you find in the middle of nowhere. I would like it if Middletown's main commercial district was right across the street from Wesleyan instead of 4 blocks away on Main St., but it's definitely not the middle of nowhere.

Ok.. and how far from NYC and Boston??

.... Ahh.. I dunno how I'm gonna be able to live in the suburbs....

How big is MIddletown?
Does it have clubs?
And malls?
What's it like in general.... Any art galleries/museums...? what's there to do

It is not in the middle of nowhere at all. Granted, it might not be in a great location, but it's okay... lots of good, cheap ethnic restaurants. I don't think there are any clubs, but there are bars and a few music/arts venues. Middletown has 43,000 people. I think the main thing about Wesleyan, though, is that it is a very central location. It is about a half hour away from New Haven, an hour and a half away from New York, and two hours away from Boston. (I'm not positive about the times, though.)

Alright thanks for the comments :)

Ok doesn't sound TOO bad..
Hm.. an hour and a half from NYC.
...
Do people at Wes all have cars?

Isn't New Haven a real "nothing to do" place as well..?

New Haven has a lot in terms of restaurants/bars/clubs/music venues/theater venues.

New Haven's better than Hartford, anyway. Also if you can get someone to drive you to Meriden train station (10 minutes drive), yon can take Amtrak to New Haven ($6) and then Metro North to NYC ($18). Having a car is very useful, I have one.

As for where bands and other culture happens in Middletown, it's usually on Wesleyan's campus. That's where Middletown people go for stuff like that. I think there was some talk of the Goodspeed Opera House relocating from East Haddam to M-town, but that's a couple years off still.
