Has anybody auditioned here and could give me a little information? I just set up my vocal audition for March 22 (I'm singing "Nel cor piu non mi sento" and "Til There Was You") , and I'm so nervous that I'm about to puke. :-S

Get a handle on those nerves! Can you find opportunities to perform in your hometown before then, such as at a studio recital or assembly? The more times you get up there and sing, the more comfortable you’ll be. You know your rep, and the audition panel is there to put you at ease- they want you to do well. Take a deep breath and know that you will be just fine.

At my voice studio, we have Masterclasses monthly that I perform at. I’m usually more nervous about auditioning than performing which is my main problem.

OK then, keep focused and think of your audition as just another studio performance! As I said, the panels want you to do well and the’ll make it comfortable for you. Be younrself and you will be wonderful! Keep posting and let us know how it’s going for you.

Just figured that I could give an update:
I ended up with terrible allergies/maybe a sinus infection (I don’t go to the doctor often to know). And lost my voice Tuesday and the Saturday after my audition. I had a stuffy nose and scratchy throat all week. On Thursday, the throat issues stopped, but my nose was so stuffy that when I tried to sing, I was gasping for air. By recommendation of my choir director, I bought a neti pot, and it was a miracle. I used it twice, but the second time, I felt some water in my ear. I wake up Friday morning to drive to my audition and behold, I am mostly deaf in my right ear. However, the faculty remembered my by name and were really excited to see me, and my audition went pretty well (except maybe pitch-matching since I couldn’t hear the piano too well haha). They seemed rather impressed, and the secretary at the end opened my folder and told me that I had nothing to worry about, but I’ll get a letter within a week or two! And tomorrow I’m off to the doctor to hopefully get my ear flushed and find out what’s wrong! haha

Good job, minimusicalgirl! We knew you could do it!
