As a HS senior who applied ED to a school other than Tulane and got denied, while I can’t say that I wouldn’t take the offer to enter as a freshman as an “apology” if an error like Tulane’s did occur, it definitely wouldn’t be fair to the students that would have attended had I not been issued a “free” entry. I understand that you’re all looking out for your children or for your students, but please keep in mind that being rejected from an ED school isn’t the end all, be all and it isn’t the first time that a school has issued faulty admissions results. I highly doubt that we would be seeing as many demands for automatic entry to schools such as Duke or UPenn as we do for Tulane. Just accept that Tulane made an honest mistake (as humans often do) and help your students with their continued endeavors. Remember: it’s not the end of the world even if it seems like it in the beginning.
