WF we hardly knew ye!

Wake; no merit no aid. Other similar schools big merit. IB diploma 3.9 unweighted. sports, leadership EC's etc. Accepted but no money. Not whining...just saying that WF must be loaded with stellar apps. D will attend one of the 3 others that are throwing money her way. One of which has much lower acceptance rate. Just sayin'. Must be nice to be in that position. I really liked Wake (for my D) and wanted it to work. Oh well. Not in the mood to argue with WF....D didn't have them as her first choice (maybe they knew....? Ha!)

See ya around the boards.

Sorry to hear that. My understanding is that very little merit aid is available at Wake Forest.

In my experience, the need-based aid is good - but of course, that has much to do with your EFC. Again, sorry it is not going to work out for your daughter.

The increase in stellar applicants could also have to do with the increase in general applications:

“Vanderbilt, William & Mary, Emory, and Wake Forest, among other schools, are garnering more attention than usual for their pleasant climates.”

Sorry that it will not work out for your daughter but she sounds amazing and I’m sure that any school would be lucky to have her!
