I'm not sure if I will even apply yet, but I would appreciate any feedback.

-Native American male from Oklahoma at a top 300 school. I dont know how. School never sends kids to top schools...one to Duke this year but that was a miracle.

-2100 SAT, 32 ACT

-3.7cum GPA(3.5frosh year), about 3.8 from then on. Rank is iffy:probably top 4-8% if not higher

-AP Scores: All 4's and 5's, but no AP Calc or AP Physics. Hardest was probably AP Chem

-Only 2 years of a foreign language(terrible counselor advice), and math through Pre-Calc(not an option)

-ECs: I have three passions
1. Tennis-I am a nationally ranked tennis player at a top 10 junior club in the US. This takes up a ton of time, and I play on varsity as well-I have been the only player from our team to make it to state..ha we are terrible, but state is actually a big feat here
2.Volunteering-I have volunteered at nursing homes, the art museum, and with cystic fibrosis. Cystic Fibrosis is something I can relate to from a personal experience(I dont have it..) so it may be an essay topic. I have tons of hours from this.
3. I created my own small business. I buy art when I travel and online, and I have my own website and EBAY page that I sell art and make a good profit. I have made several thousand dollars since sophomore year. It's not virtually unknown either-Advertisements are in the urban magazines and the newspaper.
I am also VERY involved with the school student council, class boards, etc..Im one of the people who make things happen!

Your enthnicity and solid scores are both good. If possible, I would try to complete something equivalent to calc ab and/or bc at a local college because it's important to have some sort of prior experience with calculus. If you do end up applying, be prepared to make a strong case for your interest in business. Good luck!

yes, considering that he has posted the same 'I am not even sure whether or not I should apply thread in just about every top college it looks like a troll. How could you not know that you have a great chance being a native american with a 32 and high GPA, as well as being a top 10 tennis player in the nation. Personally I have a little trouble believing that tennis is very popular in oklahoma, the state where football is king.

I don't play football....your right football is king here...I went to football camp in 3rd grade and broke my collar bone. I copied and pasted the same info in every thread I have posted. I have recieved different feedback in the chances threads compared to the specific university forums. Tennis is pretty big here-its big around the world. I did not say I was a top 10 tennis player in the nation though. I am JUST nationally ranked, I am nowhere near the top 10.

i got accused of being a troll too. i don't think ur a troll. we're just URM's that have it going for us. i wouldn't say it jealousy, but people just don't want to believe we're real. that being said, i think you have a better than average chance at wharton. you're not guaranteed in, but i would be a little surprised if you got rejected. i just can't imagine that Penn gets a lot of applications from Native Americans with stats/AP's like yours. the only thing i think that could hurt you is that you haven't taken any Calc yet. I read somewhere that Wharton is HUGE!!!! on Calc. Good luck though.

I know...the lack of Calc at my school is killer. I'm definitely looking into the college classes. I just dont know if I can balance the college class, high school classes, ec's, and everything else..

yeah i'm not an admissions officer so it's hard to say what they would think about that. obviously it's not your fault. if you've gotten all A's in your math classes so far, that's gotta look good. and they can't EXPECT you to selfteach calculus or go to a community college. i know i wouldn't. idk. tough to say. maybe just apply to CAS. i'd say you have a great shot there. why do you want to go to wharton so badly?

I apologize, I thought that being ranked top 10 meant that you were in the top 10. I hope you can see my point that being a native american with a 32, great ECs, and asking for your chances is just silly.

well when ur talking about Wharton, i don't think it's silly. when i think wharton admissions, i think of HYPS admissions. and i don't think anybody would be silly to ask for chances there (unless you were a valedictorian, 2400 SAT, 8x5AP, eskimo from alaska).
edit: or are they called inuits now?
