Okay so a little bit of background-
My grandfather went to wharton for his PHD- LEGACY (I think)
Indian female.
I was born in US and lived there till the end of 8th grade, and so am considered a domestic applicant for financial aid purposes.
High school was-
9th india
10th US
11th and 12th india

So without further ado, let us begin-

Standardized testing-
SAT- 2280
SAT II-
Math II- 800
Chem- 800
Phy- 760 (I fell asleep in the middle; I got the test date wrong, found out at 2am, had 3 hours of sleep).

Now on to high school-

9th- all A's. 9.2cGPA/10 unweighted
Note- This was my first year in an indian school, so I'm pretty proud of myself.
I was elected for stuco, and managed the entire school spirit week that year. Was on the school tennis, chess and swim teams.
I started working at an ice skating rink, which basically meant staying at the rink and helping customers in case they needed. I also was their online presence manager- facebook- 600 likes in a couple of months- woot woot.
2nd in state- International English Olympiad.

10th-
phy AP B- B
World geo preap- B
Chem AP- C
English preAP- B
WHAP- B
Precal- C
Debate- B
I got a 4 on all 3 APs (Phy B, chem and WHAP)

EC's
Debate/ became an NFL member/ only one selected to do VLD right away.(school team)
MUN (school team)
Fencing- outside of school
Tennis- outside of school
Drama- outside of school
EC's took about 5 hours a day; practically no time to study.

Note-
okay so I knew I was only going to be in US for one more year, so I was doing my best to find stuff I really liked and would be able to continue in India. I took one of the hardest curriculums ever offered to sophomores just because I really liked
the level of the courses; the challenge was irresistible. I managed to pull up most of my grades quite a bit before the end of the year- resulting in the 4s. I'm planning on explaining this in a small letter to the admission officers.

11th and the 1st semester of 12th.(Indian school completes 1st sem by September.)
okay this is where the good stuff starts.
grades- all A's woot woot. Rank- 1/300 (They only rank per year, not based on past performance)

EC's
I love these-

DEBATE-
Started a City wide Debate club that has more than 60 members from mainly 3 schools. This is completely student run; no teacher guidance whatsoever.
Was the main student lead in organizing a debate competition at my school.
Attended 6 state level competitions with 30+ schools in attendance; won 1st prize in 2.

POLITICS-
Pretty intense 2 month internship at BJP's Bhopal HQ during Narendra Modi's election campaign.
Worked closely with city level officials- wrote/ edited speeches, managed social media campaigns, cold called voters, helped organize rallies (I also did one on my own:)) and did a bit of PR. Learnt a LOT; this is what my ComApp essay shall be about. It helped me realize my passion for politics, which I hope to pursue as a minor at UPenn.

VOLUNTEERING-
Volunteered 200+ hours so far at this NGO that helps combat unemployment by holding seminars and workshops to tach people basic stuff like basic education as well as trade skills. I helped teach computers to the people- simple stuff like word, paint, using the calculator, email, etc.

JOB-
Marketing manager at an ice skating rink. I manage their online presence- facebook- as well as manage booking for the rink. Also helped out for a while at the front desk with reservations, but had to stop because I literally had no time.

COURSERA-
Intro to corporate finance- UPenn
Intro to finance- UMich
Principles of microeconomics- University of chicago, urbana Champaign. (err I hope I spelled that right)
Introduction to logic- Stanford- ongoing
Intro to mathematical reasoning-Stanford- ongoing

SCHOOL STUFF-
Awarded "Best Writer" award.- 11th and 12th

Awarded "Most Valuable Person" during production of the programs presented during farewells (graduation) and school spirit days (annual functions).- 11th

President of the School Magazine Committee- 11th and 12th
We had 3 members; I was in charge of getting people to submit articles. This involved a bit of work as our school generally has very few submissions. We netted bout 130 this year thanks to my classroom to classroom campaigning and lots of following up.
I also did the final round of editing and decided the layout of the magazine.

Started the Big Sister tradition at school-
Basically a club where we assign 11th and 12th graders a 6th grader to show around the school and make comfortable with secondary school. (At my school, secondary meant 6th-12th, and there were no orientation nights or anything. The poor kids were freaking out). This actually started when I saw a tiny 6th grader standing outside the office and crying because she was lost.

Drumming- part of school band; lead drummer for official school functions (farewells, annual days, etc.) PS I play a drum set, not the marching band type drum.

WELL I THINK THAT'S ABOUT IT.
Thanks so much for your time guys, please comment and chance. I'll honestly chance you lovely people back, I promise.
