Wharton has 9% acceptance rate

Change Penn State's name to Joe Pa U. They won't mind.

Would you say international students have better chances to get into Wharton, respective US students with similar merits?

Better chances?

Hahahahahaha

If "international" means Canada or Asia, you're screwed.

If "international" means Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, or Darfur, then yes, you'll have a better chance

If Wharton's yield is as high as you guys say, are my chances of being accepted off the waitlist hopeless??

I'm worried now =(

It's possible that this year they may have guessed wrong on the yield & # of admits because the common app increased the side of the pool but the extra common app people are less likely to attend (less committed to the school, just threw it in) . So there's a (very small) chance that they might have to go into the waitlist more than usual. Last year hardly anyone from the waitlist got in. Mostly the waitlist is a consolation prize to signal that they really liked you and feel bad about saying outright no, but usually your chances of actually getting in from the waitlist are minimal - hundreds on the list, only a handful get in.
