America’s most miserable city: Detroit, MI

haha, at least it’s a city!

i’m from california :)

New York ;)

Do you guys have any back up programs? Preferably business ones.

I’m from California!

Have you all visited Wharton before? (either campus)

Effulgence- not really… do you?

Cornell’s business program perhaps? Aside from that, don’t think there is anything / anything that the deadline hasn’t already ended for.

LBW is the place to be though. ;)

I saw that Georgetown had a business summer camp/program thing, but I haven’t really looked into it.

Hey guys! I have seen both of those programs, but I have to agree, LBW seems to me like the place to be. Since the deadline passed how do you all feel about your apps.

I’m not very confident about my essays unfortunately… I think stats-wise I’d be decently competitive and I know one my letter of recs will be really well-written. But yeah those essays… I think I don’t stand out in my “Why LBW?” essay, though I did like the main essay a bit better. What about you?

Hey thanks for your reply! I think my ap was okay. The essays were my best part. GPA goodish 3.97 unweighted full IB Candidate. Test scores meh… Recs not sure, one was my college counselor so should be pretty excellent (hopefully). EC’s and some accomplishments included…
-Cross Country (3 varsity letters and captain for next year)
- MUN (chair of security council at Wyoming MUN and went to Student Conference on Human Rights in NY,NY)
- My summer job as a front desk agent (at the number one resort in Idaho and youngest staff member)
Not sure about the extra activities and honors part… I put down some stuff about being on my schools Student Leadership Council and my participation and recent success in policy and congressional debate. Also mentioned founding my school’s business club and coordinating an acapella group.

I guess we’ll see what happens. What do you all do for ECs?

Let’s not make this a “chancing” thread. It’s only going to make us all more nervous than we should be for the next month.

@ Lemonboy 377
With about a month left until notification it seems almost inevitable that people will post about what they wrote on the application etc.

That being said, I agree that this should not become a nerve-racking chancing thread.

Have you been to either Wharton campus?

Yeah I’ve been to Penn three times, but in all honesty I’m more into Penn and Philly than I am Wharton. I am, however, very involved and interested in business, hoping to be a third generation Wharton grad. I think going to this would be an awesome precursor for actual Penn life. Apparently the advisors are kind of lenient, so after class activities are going to be prime.

Wow that is awesome! I’ve never been to Upenn or Philadelphia but I am going there in a few weeks! I am mainly interested in the program for obvious reasons besides the fact that it is in the city. Hopefully see you there!

Seems like I’m late to the party. I ended up writing up my app the night before it was due (which was a pretty exhilarating experience). Good luck to you guys!

Finished it a few days prior to the deadline, however I was updating it rapidly for the last 2 hours before it ended. I know what you mean.

So, what got all of you guys interested in business / the LBW program?

Aptly put @GrammerNazi “Exhilarating” haha.
Welcome to the party.

I’m also from New York I’m worried because one of my teachers still hasn’t written my rec and I told him before winter break. Sigh.

Mystic1996- Have you received the email updates with the confirmation that your teacher hasn’t sent it in?

Enshadow- LBW was interesting to me b/c it is @ penn and the site visits seem awesome.
