<p>Chicago (and most top schools) admit students, not test scores. If you can show yourself worthy of admission in other ways, you'll be on much better footing than those that have high test scores but nothing else to show for them.</p>

<p>And yes-- Chicago DOES accept students with high scores, but it doesn't mean that it ONLY accepts students with high scores. Consider, by those midrange numbers, that 25% of the student body has below a 29. I know people accepted to Chicago who hadn't taken any standardized tests-- I know people accepted to Chicago who dropped out of high school. I think they're used to seeing some performance diversity in the application pool.</p>
