What all should I bring to New Student Preview/Orienation?

I know it is an overnight stay, so I assume I should bring toiletries if I were to shower and a pair of clothes for day 2, and a photo I.D., pens, paperwork relating to my previous schooling, a cellphone, etc. Would I be allowed to bring a laptop and a book? If I did bring this stuff, would I be able to drop it off in the morning or would I have to carry it around for the entire day? I read the FAQ and it didn’t even seem to mention bringing toiletries or clothes for day 2, which I guess is common sense but I still didn’t find the FAQ very informative :stuck_out_tongue:

Also, any info from people who have gone to earlier summer sessions about what we actually do while we’re there. Basically, I am not seeing how a freshman orientation and registering for the freshman schedule would occupy an entire 2 days.

For reference, my session starts tomorrow, July 12th, and runs through July 13th. Any replies are appreciated

Since no one has responded, and your session starts tomorrow…

When we did it, back in 2014, we also had to bring sheets and a pillow. My DD checked in her luggage at the Reitz Union. At the end of the first day, you then had to walk your luggage over to Jennings (which is the dorm we used in 2014). Bring luggage with wheels!

You can bring your laptop, but I wouldn’t recommend it.

You’ll have a busy schedule, with several sessions, that cover a lot of ground, it will keep you busy.

Have fun!.
