I am going to be a junior this coming year, (there is one week until school starts) and I was signed up for AP Biology but am thinking about dropping it and taking Chemistry instead. Currently I am enrolled in:
Trig/Pre-Calc
Concurrent English 11/12
AP Biology
Open Hour
AP US History
is taking AP Biology and APUSH at the same time too rigorous and stressful? Ive been a straight A student my whole life and I am on the Varsity soccer team. Id like to not be too stressed out this year, with limited mental breakdowns What do you guys think?
It all depends on how well you can manage your time. I know APUSH and AP bio are a lot of work and so is AP chem so I don’t really see a point in you switching out. You’re only taking two AP classes, I’m sure you’ll be fine. This is coming from a girl who’s taking 3 APs out of 4 (my school is on a block schedule) and on varsity tennis, nhs, and a few other clubs. I would actually be taking Honors Chemistry, so it would be my first year taking Chem… at my school we have very few AP courses offered so there isn’t a ton of options for AP classes so im worried not taking AP bio would be too few of AP classes
Actually, unless you’re planning on taking chem as a senior, you might be better off taking chem. Top colleges will want to see that you have taken a year each of bio, chem, and physics. If your school offers few AP classes, colleges will not fault you for it; take the most rigorous courseload you can while also doing well in those classes.
