What AP courses should I take?

Right now I'm a sophomore and I want to pursue either engineering or architecture. What AP courses should I take?

So far I'm planning to take:
Junior year
Calculus
Physics B
US History (self study- my school offers it but I would have to wait until senior year and I think I could self study history)

Senior Year
Calculus
Physics C
Chemistry (?)

I don't think I'll be taking any foreign language ones since my skills aren't that great. I guess I could self study bio but I really don't like it. My school has AP US Gov, but I read that the percent of people getting a 5 is really low as is with AP Lit. Statistics sounds cool but my school doesn't offer that so I would have to self study. Studio Art also sounds fun and I like art but I don't think my skills are that great and most of the people get 3s. I heard that Art History would be helpful with architecture but it sounds kinda boring to me... I'm interested in Psychology but I would have to pay over $1000 to take an online course since my school doesn't offer it and I'm not sure how well I would do self studying.

So what APs should I take if I want to go into either architecture or engineering?

Usually APs aren't for deciding majors...they are for getting rid of credit (correct me if I'm wrong) in college, so it shouldn't impact or be impacted by your major decision.

No, APs don't decide majors. But if I wanted to major in say, dance, I wouldn't waste my time taking all Math/Science APs since they wouldn't help me in what I want to do.

While AP courses do give you credit, not all colleges accept it. I want to take AP courses to challenge myself.

psychology is ridiculously easy to self study for, by all accounts. i'm taking that class right now and it's a joke, but many people report getting 5's on the exam so i would consider self studying that if i were you. what math are you in now? it looks like you're planning on taking calc ab and then bc next year. i don't know if that's such a good idea, i think you get credit for doing both if you do bc (don't quote me on that), so i think it'd be more challenging and, ultimately more rewarding if you did calc bc. ap chem is no joke, definitely the hardest thing i've had to do in high school thus far.

oh and if you really want to, you should be fine in ap us history providing you get a good mastery of the document based question. the rest is cake for self study. but for engineering, the physics, chemistry, and calculus all make perfect sense.

also, <a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/ap-tests-preparation/369861-self-studying-aps-improving-your-app.html%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/ap-tests-preparation/369861-self-studying-aps-improving-your-app.html</a></p>

According to Collegeboard, 18.8% of people got 5s in AP psychology.
I'm taking precalculus now and math is one of my best subjects so that's why I'm planning to take AP calc junior and senior year.
Would you reccommend taking AP Chem online or would it be better to take it in an actual class? What about regular Chemistry?

Also, how do you know if your school administers an AP exam? When I was looking at the statistics it said Number of Schools Administering this AP Exam: 4,257. How would I know if my school administers an exam I want to take if it's on a subject not offered in my school?

I would like to first say Art History was one of my most interesting classes in high school! I had a really enthusiastic teacher, and she talked about the context of each art piece, the history around it, the turbulent times, the artists' lives... wow. I wouldn't say it's a self-study exam; you would need to memorize the whole book! If your school does offer it and has an assiduous teacher, I suggest you take that class.

urichimaru:
Do you think that you would have been as interested in the class had your teacher not been so enthusiastic? Would you have done research on your own? It sounds really cool from the way you describe your class! I don't think my school offers it although it sounds like something I would like to know more about.

*bump

Anyone?

Take some art classes so you can make a portfolio and practice drawing at the same time. AP design, 2 or 3D.
