What applications were the most difficult/irritating?

Can anyone provide me with the Stanford essay questions or a working link to the Supplement? I can’t find it anywhere.

University of Washington took FOREVER ! Instead of having your transcript sent by your guidance counselor, they make you fill in every grade you’ve had since freshman year (or 7th/8th grade if you took any high school level courses). Freshman year I went to a school that’s year was divided into trimesters, so I had to dig up my old report cards in order to report each grade from each marking period. So inefficient !

…but it’s still my first choice =)

Yes, it’s a long supplement. I’m actually surprised I didn’t find it that difficult :p

Thanks, Fledgling! Is there a specific maximum word count for the short answer questions? Questbridge had a 25-word limit (with no tolerance) which often made it hard to complete a coherent answer.

^ You’re welcome! The word limit for the short answers isn’t specified, although the instructions say “respond in 4 lines or less”. The word limit for the essays is 250.

Penn State’s Honors College app requires answers to 3 essay questions. They are written so that you can’t adapt any other essay to answer them. However, they are worth $14,000 in tuition discounts.

Rice and Stanford just because of the number of essays. Although Stanford’s ones are actually fairly fun to write about (in relative terms of course).
