What are ENGL 111/121/131 like? Which one should I choose? :(

I read that it has some community service based things... but I don't really know what that means. Could someone elaborate more on that?
Also, my A&O is in two weeks and I still don't know which english comp course to sign up for - so far I'm deciding between ENGL 111, 121, and 131. Which of these would you recommend? I'd prefer taking the easiest one.
I've read that ENGL 111 is more reading, while ENGL 131 is more writing... is this true?
Also, are these classes similar to AP English Lang/Comp or AP English Lit/Comp? I took both of these AP classes and got a 4 in AP Eng Lang but it was a difficult class because it took me some time to get a good grasp on rhetorical arguments.
All in all, I just really want to get the 5 credits of English Comp over with because I'm more of a math-y person :( Thank you for any answers/advice!

Picking your classes can be stressful, but if I were you I wouldn’t worry too much about this one  If it’s not in your major (I assume it’s not because you’ve said you’re more of a math person), then as long as you do okay in the class and don’t fail it, you shouldn’t have any problems. Considering you’ve already taken Lang/Comp in high school and gotten a 4 on the test, I think you’ll be okay no matter which one you pick.

Speaking from my experiences in college, look more into the professors than the course material if you’re looking for a less demanding class. The professor determines the assignments and grading, so if you get a more lenient professor then the class will probably be easier. You can look at the UW course lists and go on websites like http://www.ratemyprofessors.com/</a> to sort out which professors teach a good class. And remember, professors and TA’s are willing to work with you if you’re having trouble with the material, that’s what they’re there for! If you ask for help, your profs won’t just let you drown. Also, if you decide a class really isn’t for you after seeing the syllable on the first day, you can drop it and pick another one. Good luck, hope you enjoy whichever class you end up picking!
