what are mini-suites? do u have a website for to read about it?

i'm applying for housing and i don't mind paying extra if it has better stuff..so i think that means there's a kitchen? i dont really cook, but i guess i could lol actually, it'd probably be a waste of money..but any more details?

No kitchens except downstairs on the main floor. Mini-suites in the units are awesome! Much bigger than any of the other dorms (except maybe Clark Kerr). Each floor in the mini suites have a common lounge and a common study room. The mini-suites are just called that b/c there’s a door to the hallway, you go inside, then there’s this little square foyer that has three doors: 2 doors lead to each room and 1 door leads to the bathroom that’s shared by the suite-mates. They are configured as double + double (so, 4 in a mini-suite and 4 sharing a bathroom), or double + triple (so, 5 in a mini-suite and 5 sharing a bathroom).

hey…i asked the question about mini suites…and i was wondering…

are people who live in mini suites slightly wealthier since it DOES cost 4,000 more dollars?

is it less social or something? or is there any downside to it?

so far i have this as my preference list:

unit 3 double

unit 3 triple

unit 1 double

unit 1 triple

unit 2 double

im mainly concerned about the location…i HATE walking lol (i probably weigh the least a college kid would ever weigh without having an eating disorder…for some reason) but it’s genetic i guess… and i dislike exercising which is why i want unit 3 the most. i also love to eat GOOD food so i may take trips over to clark kerr if the food is as good as they say.

if you hate walking, you should be applying for Unit 2 and you should be considering Unit4 (Bowles, Stern, Foothill)

Remember, you have to make your final option anything anywhere or your housing guarantee is dead.

Wait, you don’t want a long walk to campus BUT you’ll walk to Clark Kerr for food? Looks like you should sleep in Wheeler.

Don’t listen to these people. Foothill all the way!

I put:

Foothill Double
Foothill Triple
Foothill Quad
Clark Kerr (can’t remember what size)
Any Size anywhere

but I wish there was a distinction between La Loma (sp?) and Hillside.

Those are definitely the closest to engineering (steps and a street to cross), so it definitely depends on where you will be most of the time for where you want to live if you’re against walking.

well i heard foothill is like a library so i didn’t choose that. although i do kind of like quietness, i also want social people near my dorms i guess. it seems like unit 3 is the most social/closest to campus? i didn’t see the other dorms besides units. but on their website, it says they are further from campus leftishomind

The biggest bang for your buck is Bowles. It has bigger rooms than the units and you pay $13253 for the academic year.

The average quad in Bowles is larger than two doubles.
