Current GPA: (Freshman Year: 2.7) (Sophomore Year: 2.3) (Junior Year: 2.7)
Cumulative GPA: (Weighted) 2.6
Class Rank: 349 of 445

While I have not taken the ACT/SAT yet (next month), my practice tests revealed I was most likely going to score a 27-29 on the ACT and a 1800 - 2000 SAT Composite.

I ran cross country my Freshman and Sophomore year and have earned a spot on Varsity for my Senior year. I also played Freshman Soccer and JV Soccer.

I volunteer at the local Children's hospital organizing and assisting nurses, and well as Meals on Wheel and the local animal shelter (APA).

My grades show an upward trend and are continuing to rise, and I expect them to be high next year as I will be taking AP Biology and Biotech engineering, two of my strongest subjects (I have kept an A in my Biology class the entire year).

I'm also taking and doing well in an AP US History class (a B).

My low grades tend to be in Math (Frsh. C, Soph. D, Jun. C+ - B) and I average a C or B in English.

I realize my grades are poor, but I've completely dedicated myself to improving my grades this year and have been successful.

I would be appyling as an out-of-state student, but it's incredibly important to be to get into Arizona State. I'm 100% dedicated to the NROTC program and Arizona is one of the few colleges I could get into with both NROTC and my major.

Don’t know much about ASU but know quite a bit about NROTC if you have any questions on that front.

Also, please be aware that you will either need to pick up a scholarship or receive advanced standing in order to commission from NROTC. Those both require high college GPAs (the two people that picked up 3 year scholarships at my unit has a 3.9 and 3.5).

I wish you the best of luck and thank you for your decision to serve our county.

your GPA is below their accepted average, but considering your projected test scores and the fact that ASU usually has a very high acceptance rate you should be fine

Most likely Film/Video Production. But I definitely have questions about NROTC, the biggest one being how can I prepare before I go to orientation?

Run a lot! And do push ups and sit ups! You can’t really prepare for them yelling at you but you can definitely prepare for the fitness test. Look up the PRT requirements (my unit’s standard is good but they all vary) and try to pass those numbers. If you can run really well, you’re pretty much set b/c push ups and sit ups are a lot easier to improve on (for me at least). If anything, do 100 push ups and 100 sit ups a day and you’ll be good there.

You can technically look up a bunch of navy knowledge but you’re not expected to know that unless they tell you specifically and you’ll most likely learn everything there.

Oh, and make sure you have a good pair of running shoes.

Also, as a tier 3 major, it’ll be a lot harder for you to pick up a scholarship/advanced standing so definitely get ready to work hard and ace your classes freshman year.
