What are my chances at BU

I am a rising Junior. My GPA is 3.9, and I am ranked 22 in my school (Top 10%). Thus far I have taken 7 honors courses, and 1 AP (World History-3), and I plan to take 5 or 6 more APs over the next two years. I have not taken the SAT yet, but I got a 185 on the PSAT (M-59,CR-63,W-63).

ECs:
Tennis team
USTA tennis tournaments
Volunteer/work at tennis center
Volunteer with Beta Club
Joining Model UN this year, running for President or VP senior year
On the school newspaper (believe I will be sport’s editor this year)

I know I am still fairly early in high school, but if my grades stay this way and everything goes as planned with my EC’s and my SAT turns out around my PSAT (I know the SAT is harder but I think since I’ll actually study for the SAT my score should stay close) what do you think my chances are?

forgot to mention, tennis can take between 5 and 25 hours a week

My brother goes to BU and comparatively speaking between your two resumes, I would say you have an excellent shot. Keep up the good grades, GPA, class rank, etc and get a solid SAT score (my bro got a 1950 and only a 155 on his PSAT’s sophomore year) and you can definitely get in. Your ECs also look good. Just keep working hard

Good to know. I was worried about my ECs, I wasn’t too sure if I had enough.

Though you never know what the admissions folks are looking for, my daughter had fairly similar stats and got in and is going.

Hey!
Looks like you’re on the right track, just make sure you have solid scores on the SAT and SAT IIs or ACTs.

Don’t stress too much just yet about what your stats are compared to a school. That drives kids nuts! Just try to enjoy your Junior year and keep your grades up. Don’t push yourself too hard with APs and Honors. What matters is a good, strong GPA. And trust me, you’ll want some downtime! You’re about to enter a very busy period, the fall of your Junior year through the fall of your Senior year, and you need to make sure you are well-rested and not TOO stressed out.

Good luck!!
