What are my chances at elite schools in the UK?

I’ve wanted to go to school in the UK since I first started thinking about college, and now that I have some scores back it would be nice to hear how good of a shot I have at getting into the ones that I’m most interested in.

My scores:

AP Biology: 5
AP US History: 4
AP World History: 5
AP Environmental: 5
AP Lit: 4
AP Psych: 4 (no clue how I screwed that one up)

Predicted scores in senior year:

Gov Pol: 5
Lang: 5
Euro: 5
Physics: 4
Econ (macro and micro): 5

SAT II’s:
Bio: 720
US History: 800
World History: 800
Literature: 800

ACT:

I only took it once but I got a 32 composite

34 English
34 Reading
28 Math
30 Science
36 writing (not sure if UK schools care about the writing component)

The schools in interested in (I know I have to narrow it down to 5 for UCAS) are:

Oxford, KCL, UCL, LSE, Durham, St. Andrews

I’m most interested in history and economics, so I think for Oxford I would apply for PPE, and at other schools either plain history or a combination of history and economics.

Any input would help me a ton, thanks

there’s no history in PPE so I think that would make your application look unfocused. You could apply to do a History & Economics joint degree at Oxford. I know PPE has a big name, but if it’s not what you really want to study deep down, why do it when there’s something more suitable?

Can you take Calc AP? That would help with admission to any econ based degree.

Agreeing with @Conformist1688- all economics courses will be significantly more interested in your math scores than your econ APs.

Remember that you only write one ‘why I am a good candidate for this specific course’ essay (aka the Personal Statement) and all the unis you apply to read it. Applying to PPE, History, and History + Economics will be a challenging essay to write (especially fitting the history element into the case for PPE).

Also, joint subjects at Oxford require each faculty to sign off on the decision to admit you, and they guard their turf jealously- both/all sides need to believe that secretly you favor their side just a bit more than the other(s)!

Oxford is a reach for anyone. Economics at LSE without maths is a non starter and will be a challenge at the others. For history based courses you should be good to receive at least a conditional offer (they will ask for a 5 in one or more of your upcoming AP’s), as long as your personal statement is sufficient, Oxford will also depend on your HAT performance and the interview.
