What are my chances at getting into Cornell University?

Just curious, not really sure how realistic my shot is. My dream school is Yale but I’ve come to terms that there a slim shot I’ll make it, so this is my number two!

Involved in mulitple bands at my schools. (Jazz band, Combo band)

Involed in varisty athletics/activities with letters in strength training and tennis. I also have varsity letters for jazz band and combo band but I’m not sure how much those really mean anything.

Captain of the tennis team.

Multiple volunteering experiences. I’ve been volunteering at my local library since 8th grade. I’m also involved in a volunteering program through the school to mentor underclassmen and things like that.

My biggest concern is my lack of extra-curriculars, but I think I’m pretty well rounded. I’m involved in athletics, musics and have good academics as well as volunteering, so hopefully that’ll be good enough. So, do you think I have a decent shot of getting into Cornell Univeristy?

Which college are you applying to? Is it a good match with what you’ve done and can you articulate that clearly on your application?

Your stats are in the ballpark but it’s a reach for everyone.

Also, Cornell and Yale are very, very different schools/campuses. What appeals to you about both?

Which school within Cornell are you applying to? You are obviously qualified score-wise, but as we all know, being qualified is absolutely no guarantee of admission.

I hope you have some solid match schools on your list! The acceptance rates of Cornell’s different schools, and the types of students they’re looking to admit, vary considerably.

You have a solid profile and your ACT score looks good. Your final IB predicted score will obviously play a role too. Cornell has 7 undergrad schools - you should think about which one you are planning to apply to and why.
Good luck!
