What are My CHANCES AT PRINCETON ED?? plz be honest =)

<p>Hi guys, i finally decided to become a member of the Princeton FAMILY! :D
I would really appreciate it if you guys would tell me my chances honestly. I am not afraid of receiving negative comments.</p>

<p>I am CHINESE:eek: and live in Massachusetts. Go to a very large/really good</p>

<p>ok, first scores</p>

<p>SATI Reasoning- 710 CR, 780 MATH, 790 WRITING (10 essay)--1490/2280
SAT II's- 800 Math 2c, 780 Chemistry, 700 World History
GPA- Unweighted 4.0, Weighted 4.7</p>

<p>AP SCORES- Chemistry(5), World History(4), English Lang and Comp(4)</p>

<p>EC's
I participate in a LOT of activities for charitable causes, and even started an annual fundraiser that raises thousands of dollars each year, and have more than 400 participants/30 participating small businesses. </p>

<p>I also volunteer at a soup kitchen, making sandwiches etc once a week. I also do missionary work and go abroad to other countries to help people out</p>

<p>Conducted biochemistry research with a professor at PRINCETON UNIVERSITY during the summer (25hours/week) I'm in science club, etc. (but no other significant awards in science)</p>

<p>Started a medical research club at my high school, and am PRESIDENT. Got into a medical school program held by a state medical school. I also volunteer at a hospital. been doing it since 9th grade for 5 hours weekly.</p>

<p>I am in the orchestra at my high school, and am the MANAGER. I play the violin and have been doing it since 4th grade. I am also in another string group.</p>

<p>I am on the varsity fencing team. i am the team TREASURER and SABRE CAPTAIN. i am also in another fencing program outside school, have been doing it for 4 years</p>

<p>Essays- Lets say all my essays are really good and original. and they tell more about who i am as a person.</p>

<p>Recs- they should be ok. im guessing 1 teacher rec will be really good, 1 decent, GC one should be good as well. Also sending 1 OPTIONAL LETTER from Princeton professor (should depict a different side of me, hopefully will be good. i think he likes me :))</p>

<p>Socioeconomic Status- Lower Middle Class</p>

<p>this is gonna sound scary, but you are almost EXACTLY LIKE ME!! lol i guess it's a big applicant pool, and some ppl are bound to have similar stuff. but my scores are a bit higher :p</p>

<p>I think you have really decent chance.
The letter from Princeton University Professor will certainly help you.
I was debating withy myself whether to ask my Harvard summer program professor to write me one for Princeton or not and eventually decided not to.
I just thought Harvard's letter to Princeton was kind of .. awkward even to ask the prof.
Maybe I should've. I don't know.. =p</p>

I am asian, so i know the bar is probably set pretty high.
will a 1490/2280 cut it? and would P'ton care much about the 700 on US HISTORY? if i don't really show any real interest/inclination towards it?</p>

2280 is a good score.</p>

<p>It's not that low but won't make you stand out for your academic reasons, it's enough to let you get by if you have stellar essays/recommendations.</p>

<p>I, on the other hand, have better/worse scores than you. 1540/2200 (I can't write...) Hopefully they don't weight writing that much.</p>

<p>basically for princeton u ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO HAVE over 2300 if you don't have a major hook. that actually goes for many many colleges.</p>
