What are my chances at Princeton University?

@canintoivy: I don’t mean to be picky, but living in the US for 2 years after immigrating from Africa does not make you African American. Race and ethnicity is a complex topic for most Americans. I think you might be more accurate if you describe yourself as a somali of African (or black) descent. Or does the common application even distinguish between AA and other black races?

Regarding Trinity: your chances are indeed higher if you apply ED. Approximately half of the class is accepted during the ED round. Your ECs and life story as described above will definitely be noted by the admissions people. Just continue to work hard, write a compelling essay about your background and I’m sure you’ll have a great chance at being admitted.

@sgopal2, I was born in DC, my parents are from Africa - I’M AA. I only go to Africa because of my parents’ work.
