I was wondering what my chances are in getting accepted into: Hartwick College, SUNY Binghamton, SUNY Oswego, SUNY Brockport, SUNY Oneonta, and SUNY New Paltz?

I'm currently a senior in high school. I get straight As and my current GPA is a 96.65, which makes me 9 out of 168 students. I am currently taking AP Calculus and taking college courses such as Statistics,Computer Apps and last year I took Pre Calc and got 3 credits.

I am in book club and I have volunteered at a food pantry and a soup kitchen. I work at music store during the summer and I deliver newspapers at 3:30 every morning.

I did take the SAT and scored:
570-Critical Reading
530-Math
510-Writing

I also took the ACT and got:
Composite-26
English-23
Math-23
Reading-33
Science-25
Writing-23

So what are my chances?

I think you should probably get into all of the SUNYs except Binghamton and also probably Hartwick as well. Binghamton is a bit of a reach, they generally like to see higher SAT scores although I would apply anyway.

I’m not sure about Oswego or Brockport, but Oneonta and New Paltz would probably be good bets for you. Depending on what scores you choose to submit, Bing may not be too much of a reach (I would recommend ACT above SAT for there, however). New Paltz is a really cool place, and it’s a really good school too, so it makes me happy you’re applying lol.

3.30 in the morning…

Depending upon your other credentials, the scores and grades are within average range for the SUNYS you list. I would think StonyBrook especially, but also Albany, would be a reach but you seem to have the objectives for those you list. The discrepancy between your grades and score suggest a high school that has grade inflation and is not very competitive-something that would make a school like Stony Brook a stretch. In terms of classes, it would be good if you’re enrolled in calc now. Stats and Computer apps aren’t college classes unless they are taken at a college. but you seem like you would be in the running for the schools you list.
