What are my chances at top schools?

Hello everyone. I'm a rising senior and the college application process is only getting nearer and nearer. That being said, I need to start making some decisions and getting a better understanding of what I can achieve. Although I am fairly confident about most of my academic assets, certain components do cast me with some doubt (namely, my SAT scores). Ideally, I'd like to make it into some of the top schools (HYPSM, UPenn, Duke, etc.)

Below I have given all of my information. If anyone has the time to glance everything over and provide me with some feedback, it would be greatly appreciated.

My only major concern is my CR score. A 1410 is great; however, it's only around the 25th percentile for the schools I've listed above. My 2400 score (2210), on the other hand, falls near the accepted average for the schools I've listed. Does my writing score compensate for my inadequate CR score? I do plan on taking the SAT again in October for the last time so that hopefully I can raise my 1600 score.

What are my chances at these top schools? Thanks!

While all the schools you mentioned are reaches, they are reachable.

Only now, what matches and safeties do you have?

I really haven’t given it much thought yet, so I’m not really sure which schools I’d consider applying to as matches and safeties.

I also forgot to include two things that may or may not serve as an advantage, but, seeing as most others include this information, I figured I might as well include it myself.

 1. I’m classified as a minority. My parents are both immigrants to the United States; my mom is Cuban and my Dad is Turkish/Armenian. While I don’t speak a word of Turkish or Armenian, I am completely fluent in Spanish.
 2. Neither parent attended college, making me a first-generation college applicant

You can give them a try, although your SAT is a little bit weak. In general, you should aim at 1500+/2250+ for Ivy caliber schools. What is your intended major?

Not quite sure yet, though I’m leaning towards engineering and possibly business

Is U Wisconsin something you could consider? Penn State? UIUC? U Texas-Austin?

For engineering and business, you usually need even higher scores. If you cannot decide between the two, you may consider IOE.

You’d be surprised how much being a Cuban can help you in this process. I think you have a decent chance at your reach schools

Thanks for all the responses! Can anyone else provide me with some feedback? (The more detailed the better)
