I’m an Indian CBSE student studying under humanities stream, going in for an arts degree. I scored 8.8/10 (9 in English, Science, Math, Social Science, 8 in French) in 10th grade, and expect an easy 90+ in my boards (predicted scores reflect). Subjects: English, Pol Science, Socio, Eco, Psycho. I have a 1450 on the new SAT (760M+690R+W), no essay or subject tests. I expect myself to cook up some good essays. (TOEFL results out any time now, wish me luck) EC’s:
-Play Guitar, Bass, Drums, Keys (kinda), and I sing
-Level 4 Rockschool Diploma in Music performance (Guitar) (equal to 1st year UG in UK), and I will definitely get a level 6(3rd year UG)
-Two grade 8s in acoustic(Rockschool) and electric(Trinity) guitar, grade 6 in vocals(Rockschool). Lots of other lower certifications. topped music institute/north India/all of India in each of my qualifications.
-Concert guitar tech and student in charge for two years at largest annual event for largest music institute of its kind in Delhi NCR (where I learn) Performed in 17 (out of 18 and 19 respectively) songs each year played bass/guitar/choir/lead
-Lead guitarist/founder/leader of school band, lots of competitions, performed 20-25 times annually in school or for school. Taught in place of music teachers occasionally. Managed most music events.
-performed at pubs/restaurants/auditoriums across Delhi NCR.
-Represented Rockschool at Jaipur inauguration ceremony (travel and stay sponsored)
-Attended 8 day music camp at SAM (best music college in India)
-Member of animal fan club (stand up for animal rights, take care of stray animals in locality)
-Participated in french exchange program
-3 MUNs in school (won special mention in one), 1 interschool MUN, 1 interschool debate, 2 interschool quizzes.
-two 5-day internships.
-regularly play soccer.
My mid year report was quite bad. 72% (pulled down by a 54 in eco, because my SAT was the next day). will this be terrible for my app? My LoRs should be great (I get along with most people, so my teachers like me)
I’m applying for media studies, with music as a double major hopefully.
Also, what is an admissions counselor likely to think when someone compares them-self to pizza in an essay?

I mostly want to go to UBC though.
( I know I should have some safeties, but if I don’t get into a good college abroad, I’d rather save myself the money and stay in India)
