Im currently an international highschool student (senior). i achieved high marks during grades 10 and 11 (95% probably a 4.0 GPA) however my SAT marks are kinda bad (1640 total with 670 math 560 writing and 410 reading) Yes, reading screwed me over because english isnt my first language. My toefl score was 93 so i hope that masks my low SAT score
Now what are my chances in getting accepted to civil engineering as an undergraduate?
Not sure why you think your SAT is low for UIC.
Your 1230 CR+M SAT is equal to about a 27 ACT, but UIC’s 25%-75% ACT range is only 21-26. Of course, Engineering is typically more selective than the university overall, but their average is around 27.
My CR+M SAT is actually 1080
and my gpa (out of 4.5) is 4.2
Hmm read that wrong…usually SAT scores are posted as CR-M-W.
It’s better to have a higher M than CR for Engineering, and as you said your TOEFL score may make up for the low CR score.
so do you think I have a good shot at getting accepted?
