What are my Chances at USC?!?!?! i will chance back!

<p>I am currently a male junior in high school in Colorado. I know that USC (southern california) is a private school and it does not matter what state you are applying from, however it still seems that they do give somewhat of an edge to california students.</p>

<p>USC has been my number 1 choice for many years now. I was just wondering if i have a good chance of getting into USC when i apply next year. Here are my stats...</p>

<p>GPA (after junior year)
weighted- 4.02
unweighted- 3.7</p>

<p>Test Scores
SAT- 1950
ACT- 29
I am retaking both tests and hope to get a 2050 and a 30</p>

<p>~I am in the top 11% of my high school</p>

<p>extracurriculars
~Lettered in Debate and Debate 3 years (will a 4th time)
~I have received an academic letter 2 years in a row
~I have ran Cross Country for every year in high school and have lettered in it.
~I am a member of NHS for my 2nd year
~I am involved in Creek Connects (helping 8th grades transition from middle school to high school)
~I am a student shadow
~I am in Amnesty International for my 1st year
~I am going to be a Peer Ambassador (very big leadership position at my school)
~I volunteer at my church and at Children's Hospital this year**
~i have volunteered for the special olympics (helping mentally disabled childern swim)**
**I am putting in about 6 hours of volunteering a week
~I am also going to be at USC for a month this summer, doing their Summer Seminar program. (i know this wont do a lot but hopefully it will just show them how much i want to go there)</p>

<p>I have just met the USC recruiter and have been keeping in touch with him, i will also have an interview during spring break at USC </p>

<p>This year i am taking 3 APs (AP language, AP US Government, and AP Human Geography) Next year i will take at least 4 APs (AP Literature, AP Art History, AP Biology, AP Comparative).</p>

<p>I know i will have a very good essay and very good letters of recommendation</p>

<p>THe Last couple of years USC has become very competitive, I REALLY want to go to USC... What are my chances?!?!?!? Please be brutally honest</p>

<p>I am also interested in doing pre dental at USC if that helps</p>

<p>get a 30 or above or above 2000 and try to get that GPA up a little bit…and i say a pretty decent chance…</p>

<p>Whats your ACT breakdown? Colleges prefer the English and Math…</p>

<p>So far so good. This year you need to focus on making the last semester of junior year count. An upward trend is what they want to see, so work as hard as possible for A’s this semester. </p>

<p>If you get a 30 on the ACT you should be right in target range for USC (I assume you took the ACT with writing).</p>

<p>Are you being recruited by USC’s track team? If so, this changes the admissions game completely (and makes it easier for you to get in vs. not being recruited).</p>

<p>If not, I still think you have a good chance. High match to low reach. UColorado Boulder would be a good back up. If you are interested in OOS schools, UMich would probably fit your stats and offer you a good education. What major(s) are you interested in?</p>
