what are my chances at Vanderbilt?

<p>Hi I am a rising senior at a small (200 students) at a private school in MD.
I really want to get into Vanderbilt, but I don't want to apply ED because I would need financial aid and I heard they don't give much financial aid to ED acceptances.</p>

<p>I had all A's and B's freshman year
All A's and principals honors sophomore year
All A average (first honors) junior year</p>

<p>my SATs are at 1880 (i know they're low for Vanderbilt that's why I am worried).<br>
CR - 620
Math - 580
Writing - 680</p>

<p>I am in all honors classes and by the time i graduate I'll have 3 AP classes.</p>

<p>I am president of the Key club
involved in ecology club, health careers club, school ambassador, NHS, and a few more clubs</p>

<p>I have gotten two awards for community service, one being the Saint Michael's college award. I received the honors chemistry award sophomore year. </p>

<p>I also have been on varsity field hockey and lacrosse all 3 years oh HS and will be this year. </p>

<p>I am hoping to have a good essay and recommendation letters as well. </p>

<p>oh and i am also ranked 4th in my class my GPA is 4.2 weighted and 3.9 unweighted.</p>

<p>So...am i completely kidding myself by thinking i have a slight but small chance of getting in...I know its a VERY BIG reach, but I am in love with the school...</p>

<p>I'd like to get as many opinions as possible, thanks!</p>

<p>I doubt you’ll get accepted with that SAT. You should try to bring it up to 2100/2200 or a 32/33 on the ACT. Your ECs and grades seem good though. </p>

<p>I have also had 3 jobs too i forgot to put that…not that it helps very much and i started a community service program at my school</p>

<p>I think if you raise your test score and include the jobs you’ll be solid.</p>

<p>You’ll definitely need to raise those SATs if you want to get into Vanderbilt. If you can get around 2150 or so on your SATs next time around, you’ll have a good chance. And definitely include the jobs, that will help you out.</p>
