I am an international student(S.asian) looking to apply ED1 to Wesleyan for fall 2006. I heard Wesleyan really looks for diversity and is welcoming to international students.

As for my stats:

SAT I : 1960 (650V, 700M, 610W)
SAT II : Taking Math IC and Bio in October (hoping around 750M and 780Bio)

Giving GCE 'A' Levels and meh grades are Maths A, Biology A, English Language B and Chemistry B

As for my extra-curriculars:
- deeply involved with Lions(Leo) Club
- have done more than 150 hrs of community service
- and some other stuff which would make my EC look strong.

Financial Aid: I am not from a well to do family so really need as much aid as possible. :(

So, i just wanted to get some feedback on whether i should improve my SAT scores , my chances at being accepted and whether i should look for other colleges as my first preference. Any help would greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Honestly, I can't tell. Your SATs are a bit low, so try to take them again in the fall. And I have no idea what your transcript looks like.

Another university that really caters to international students is American University in Washington D.C. It's not as prestigious as Wesleyan but it's still very nice. I stayed at their 2 weeks while doing NSLC and I loved it. It's quite a nice campus, in a very good, pleasant location just outside D.C. Plus there are tons of other college kids there too, from Georgetown and George Washington University.

thanks wraider, was starting to think that i wouldnt get a single reply.

As for my transcript, i am top 10% of my class of 80 students.
- was a delegate in Model United nations organized in my school
- have acted in school plays
- member of the school swimming and basketball teams
- president of the computer club

i think thats about it. As for the SAT's if i retake them in Oct. i wont be able to give my SAT II's to be ready to apply ED so thats the problem. And i did look at American Univ. and was thinking to apply RD there but after what you said i might just make it my ED2.

As for your chances, I'd say you have a chance but wouldn't be a sure thing or anything. Top 10% is good... and it's good that you're the President of your computer club and thus have taken on a leadership position. You seem to have diverse interests, which is good, but in your college essay you should focus on one thing that really is important to you and bring it out!

thanks for the posts guyz. but jus now i found that Wesleyan doesnt have ED for international students which totally sucksss.:( So i have start all over again.:(
