GPA: 3.6
SAT: 450 Math
450 CR
Intended Major: Civil Engineering @ SJSU
Bio/ Biotech @ Pomona
What are my chances of getting into these two schools?
For SJSU, you need an Eligibility index around 3250 based on this year’s acceptances.
Your EI is 3780 so I would say Match.
EI’s are not published for CPP, but since Civil Engineering is an impacted major, they required an SAT Math score of around 550 to qualify. So I would say a Reach.
If you are a Junior, retake the SAT and aim for a higher score. If a Senior, then you should be OK for SJSU and if you are lucky you may get into CPP. Good Luck.

Sorry, I thought you had Civil Engineering as intended major for both schools. You are probably a High Match for Bio/Biotech for CPP. but I still think your SAT Math score is low for a prospective Engineering/BioTech major.
Thank you so much! But one more question, what’s the difference between Reach, Match and High Match?
Reach: Low Chance for an acceptance <20%
High Match: Decision could go either way 50/50
Match: You meet the average requirements for the school and you have a good chance for admittance. >50%
