What are my chances of getting into Duke University? It's my dream school! Honest opinions please. I'm currently a junior at a public highschool - it's one of the top schools in the area and also the state (I don't know if that makes a difference or not..). I have/am currently in the process of completing 6 AP courses (AP American Government, World History, Environmental Science, Calculus AB, and English Language and Composition). I plan to take 3-4 AP courses as well next year when I'm a senior. I have a 3.8 GPA UW and I don't know what my weighted GPA is. Last time I checked my rank was in the top 10% but since then I think it has dropped to maybe top 12-15%. But that is because I took an extra online math course second semester of my sophomore year that was condensed into 3 months..AND it didn't give me any honor points...so that really brought down my avg/rank (I got a 90 for the "first" semester and a 91 on the "second" semester). Those grades calculated into my avg of a 97+ and a rank of 28/398 to an avg of 96.6 to an unknown rank. SO SAD :(
As for extracurriculars, I've held leadership positions in Math Team all 3 years (Secretary and Vice President of JV and Secretary of Varsity), I'm volunteer coordinator for the Beta Club, and I'm the founder and President of my own club which raises money to help fund projects in developing countries. I am in the Key Club, Science Olympiad, Spanish Club, FBLA, and I tutor. In addition I work at my church and I self-teach kids how to swim in the summer.
On the SAT I scored a 2150 and on SAT II's I took World History - 610 and Chinese - 720 (I'm Chinese). I really messed up on the world History one...but I got a 4 on the AP World History exam..so hopefully that will make up for it? I'm planning on taking the Math II subject test and possibly the spanish, literature, or writing one too.
What are my chances for Duke University?? WHat should I improve..I only have one more semester of junior year and my first semester senior year left..

You have a really good chance.
Just keep working hard.
Do you plan on doing ED?
